To whom it may concern, We have fallen victim to their scam regarding the HVAC system. A person came in from Ontario Home Services and told us our AC was able to get an upgrade and there would be no extra charge however on our bill we did find a charge which we were unaware about. Now we have filled a complaint against them and are in dispute and have... The ministry also has a team that investigates alleged violations. They determine if offences have been committed and, where appropriate, can lay charges.
The information must stay on the Consumer Beware List for at least 21 months but not more than 27 months. Information relating to a charge will be removed if the business is found not guilty. This review is based on my own experience and is my genuine opinion. If you are or have been a customer of Ontario Green Savings, please help us improve this article by sending us a copy of the contract.

I contacted several A/C companies for an estimate to replace my air conditioning system. I found Ontario Consumers Home Services was very professional and knowledgeable. They didn't just try and sell me a system, but spent a lot of time explaining the differences in the systems available today. I am really satisfied with our new system and when they finished the job they asked if I would have any problems referring them to others. It is nice to know there are still quality people and contractors who do what they say and take the time to do a quality job. I would like to take this opportunity to describe my experiences with Maksim Kopeikine with Ontario Consumers Home Services.
The only truth they all hold is their name tag, hung around their neck, as if it were to be Government-issued...goodness. They will stand to the side of your doors to prevent themselves from appearing invasive. They will knock on your door two times before leaving to go to the next door. They are all trained to take "no" as an opportunity to continue convincing you that something is indeed wrong. DO NOT say, "my husband/wife who is charge is not at home," they will DEFINITELY come back and knock again. If you can't handle blatantly ignoring these fools, then say, "I don't own this house," and they will be gone faster than their cheap-ass littered with McDonald's garbage mini-van.

After the story was published, one of the women had the water softener removed at no charge. Remember that if you sign a new contract for a product or service, such as a water heater rental, you will have to end your existing contract with your current supplier. There may be fees for ending your current contract and having your existing product or service removed. The ministry and these administrative authorities enforce a number of Ontario's consumer protection and public safety laws, investigate alleged violations and handle complaints. Just today, got a guy come over very nice man. Told me he was here to make appointments to replace the water heater.
I mentioned the paper he had me sign indicated a charge of $109.99 a month. He told me that would be adjusted by his head office as he had to tell them of the circumstances that this should have been listed on the paperwork for the furnace. The lead plaintiff, now deceased Hugh Cullaton who is represented by his estate, claimed the Ontario Energy Group went door-to-door selling contracts to lease equipment to homeowners. Cullaton alleged that the contracts were unlawful and resulted in undisclosed high monthly rental fees. In addition, the company that purchased the contracts from Ontario Energy Group, Home Trust Company, allegedly slapped liens on the titles to consumers’ homes.

He came and checked the unit and told us that it needs to be replaced. We settled the paperwork’s and he arranged the work schedule right away. They are very friendly, lay out some rugs to protect the floor and the work was professionally done. And they are happy to answer all our questions.
Looks like they only have one technician working for the company. We have Better things to do then wait for them and they don’t show up. This is the average rating based on homeowner reviews. How those businesses take care of those complaints is what separates good businesses from the rest. We had 6 months free and they started it day of signing and not when it was in. Plus there was so many things I should of seen, good thing is it will never happen to anyone I Know or should be told. He said if not change I will shutdown everything. He showed my enbridge bill you paid every month you don't need to pay .
In the proposed class action settlement, Ontario Energy Group and Home Trust Company have also agreed to clarify the termination terms of their contract and improve their lien and security registration practices. They won't pay you for 3 weeks and you will only be paid for your first week on the first paycheck so in the end they always have about 2 weeks pay that they withhold from you. Once you leave the company there will be no pay for you and they will tell you that they withhold pay for 90 days because of some company policy. This is something they just make up not to pay you because there was no mention of something like that in the contract you sign with them. Ontario Consumers Home Services is a 100% Canadian owned and operated company.
